My Poetic Pop-Culture Self

I am from plastic hangers,
from Jello and Converse.

I am from the Q-tips and Kids Crest, always Sparkle Fun.

I am from Cyberchase, Seinfeld, and Olympics broadcasts.
I am from Alton Brown and Guy Roz, from Baskin Robbins, from Samsung S3, and from Thank You Mom.

I am from NPR and All Things Considered.

From motherboards and silly songs.

I’m from the Caribbean, from history, classical music, mythologies, and imagination.

I am from Mr. G’s, where I eat one thing every time and my brother tries everything on the menu.

From the crazy movie 2-day crash with Arthur, the odd and only comedian show.

I am from the Renaissance and OK Go and Day Tripper and Libra Sonatine.
I am from classical guitar and recommendations for YouTube.

I am pages turned under a blanket, volume turned down low, keys struck with heavy wrists, an awkward voice, my heart.

  1. I love OK Go! It’s one of my favorite bands! I love it when I find another fan of that band. And go classical mythology and music! ^^

  2. Day Tripper was like the first song I ever learned to play all the way through. Love the Beatles.

  3. “I am pages turned under a blanket, volume turned down low, keys struck with heavy wrists, an awkward voice, my heart.” <——-This is my favorite line 🙂 It's very visual appealing.
